The landscape of Korzok is dotted by a large number of mane walls, which fall on routes traversed by the Changpas as they move from camp sites to pastures. Several of these had been damaged over the years with mane stones dislodged and in some cases entire sections of the walls had collapsed.
A community based restoration project was undertaken in 2020 to restore around 38 mane walls in Korzok. The project was undertaken through a partnership with the village committee and monastery with villagers volunteers. Senior monks guided the correct order for the placement of the inscriptions and conducted the de consecration and consecration rituals.
